The gross level of incompetence I have encountered in the two times I've dealt with this district court office has blown my mind. Obviously you don't expect first rate service from a place like this but sheer lack of any sign of viable brain activity from this office is absolutely repulsive. On one occasion a friend's car had ran out of gas and before he could get back to it, it was towed. Not only was he not given any warning, when he called to find out where it was, they had no idea. HOW DO YOU LOSE A CAR IN 12 HOURS? They couldn't even tell us what towing service they had used. He ended up finding it by calling every area towing company and impound lot. Today, I had a Seatbelt ticket due to be payed to that god-awful court system, so foolishly I called thinking that the woman would actually know how to do her job. I gave my name, asked the price of the ticket, and if a check sent with a friend would be acceptable since I had to work. She gave me the amount and said that was fine. When my friend tried to give them my check, presumably the same secretary I spoke with a few hours before told him that since I had not attended my court date i would have to pay in cash, in person, and i had a warrant out for my arrest. Awesome, when I go down there tomorrow we'll see if they try to tack on a bs late charge.
