It took them nearly 3 weeks and $1,600 to rebuild the transmission in my car. That alone was outrageous seeing as a NEW transmission online, with freight to my door, and professional installation would run the same price.
I took the car back and asked them to fix the problem which was not there when I took the car in, because obviously they damaged the seal between the motor and tranny when putting it back in piece.
After having the transmission blow out in my car, I took it to Philpot's.
This place is absolutely horrible. Whatever you do do not take your vehicle here. I had my water pump replaced with a brand new one that I bought myself and it went out in two months breaking several other parts in my engine. I paid $450 just to have them replace the pump. After it breaking I took it to another shop that bought the water pump, timing belt, and crankshaft sensor plus charged me labor and was only $440. Philpots is a joke. If you've ever seen all the cars out front that's because they just let them sit there and never work on them. My brothers had a vehicle sitting there for 8 months and finally had to go get them back and take them somewhere else who finished them in less than a week. Whatever you do be warned this place is not a place you want working on your vehicle.
After a week of waiting for them to change a SEAL which I could have done in my garage in less than 24 hours, I got my car back, only to find that once I got it home the same exact seal was still leaking.

After getting my car back I noticed that the seal between the engine and transmission was now leaking motor oil. (Full synthetic, 8 dollars a qt), and leaking about 2 qts a day.
This place was awful, and the OWNER was a complete jerk. They stripped out a screw in our skid plate, and did an oil change. When we only took the vehicle to get brakes put on it. Then when brought this up to the owner about the two issues, he proceeded to yell and cuss at us. NEVER AGAIN will we be back!
Best place to take your vehicle for repair if not going to a dealer. Jim and his son Heath are honest hard working guys. They do great work at a reasonable price and stand behind their work. A+ on all the work they have done for me. Fred.
